CGDent and GC Award for Foundation Trainees
This clinical skills award offers 18 winners a fully funded place each on a two-day hands-on
composite layering course at GC’s Education Campus in Belgium.
Eligibility: for dentists and dental therapists in their first year of qualification in the UK or
Ireland, or currently undertaking DFT, DVT or JDFCT.
The 2026 award is now closed. The 2027 award will open in September 2026.
Tom Bereznicki Award for Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry
Successful candidates each receive a fully funded place on a two-day hands-on digital dentistry course which leads participants step-by-step through the complete process of creating a digitally produced crown.
Eligibility: for dentists who have qualified between two and five years and practise in the
UK.
Entries for the 2026 award are open until 20 July 2026.
Tom Bereznicki Award for Tooth Wear Cases
Successful candidates in the Award for Tooth Wear Cases each receive a fully-funded place on a composite injection moulding technique course at GC’s UK training facilities.
Eligibility: for dentists who have qualified between two and five years and practise in the UK.
The award is open for entries until Monday 10 August 2026.

Starting in June 2026, the Foundation and the College of General Dentistry are hosting a series of free monthly webinars designed for dental professionals at the start of their career.
The topics have been chosen by the early career members of our Education Steering Committee to offer you targeted support in the areas of clinical practice that you may need in your first few years.

Introduction to Occlusion Symposium
Saturday 24 October 2026, Manchester
First held in London and Edinburgh in 2025, the 2026 symposium will be taking place in Manchester. Led by six renowned speakers, the one-day programme examines the five basic principles of occlusion and how they can support the provision of successful, long-term restorative treatments for tooth wear and other conditions.
Designed for early career practitioners and open to all dental professionals.

First held in 2025, this symposium covers the aesthetic aspects of perio and functional occlusal aspects post orthodontic treatment and is led by expert speakers Dr Reena Wadia and Dr Andy Toy.

We are planning to hold this symposium again in London in 2027.
